About The Artist
My work explores the layered nature of the human experience, including emotion, memory, and change.
Through abstraction, I translate these experiences into intuitive acrylic and watercolor paintings, where color, transparency, and movement interact in dynamic and often unexpected ways.
Born in Colombia and raised in Brazil, I’ve always been drawn to nature, its rhythms, textures, and quiet lessons. Nature serves as both visual inspiration and, at times, as a metaphor, offering insight into patience, impermanence, resilience, and presence.
In a world defined by speed and constant activity, my paintings offer a space to pause and reflect. Layered washes of color draw the viewer in, creating depth and subtle movement across the surface. Each piece unfolds over time, encouraging a deep engagement with its layers, textures, and gestures, affirming the value of simply being.
The Process
In my acrylic work, I use a subtractive process. I lay down layers of paint, then return with a dry brush to move, lift, and gently pull pigment away. As the surface is excavated, delicate layers emerge, each carrying traces of what came before. The process becomes a dynamic conversation with the canvas: my body moves with the brush and responds to the evolving forms, gradually revealing the feelings held within the painting.
Letting go of control and being present are essential aspects of my practice. As I paint I focus on the feelings within and canvas in front of me, intuitively responding to what unfolds. What emerges is more than color or texture. It is a moment suspended in time, a record of emotion, movement, and transition, reflecting the ever-shifting nature of being human.
